The Company of Ballets “Alfonso Rendano”, founded by Isabella Sisca, is a "non-profit organization of social utility", where young calabrian dancers have the opportunity to move closer to professional dancers, working with qualified teachers and choreographers.
The Company was founded by Mrs. Isabella Sisca in 1981, participating since the early years on important events.
Just in June of 1981, The Company has organized a gala ballet at the Teatro "A. Rendano" with the help of the Provincial Group "Amici dell' UNICEF."
In 1984 and 1985, The Company has participated at the event "Settembrata Anacaprese" in Anacapri (NA), performing together with Radu Ciuca, first dancer from Cluj - Opera House Opera and Diana Ferrara, first dancer from the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome.
Also in 1984, The Company has been invited to the event international ballet "The Versiliana", in Marina di Pietrasanta (PT).
From 1987 to 1994 it successfully organized the "Festival della Danza" at the Amphitheater of Altomonte (CS), who have participated over the years, companies from all regions of south, and renowned dancers, Biagio Tambone, Maurizio Vanadia and Isabel Seabra, all first dancers from Teatro Alla Scala in Milan.
In 1988, The Company has made a tour in Canada on the invitation of the Association of Calabresi of Montreal.
In 1989 it created his own production of the ballet "Lo Schiaccianoci " on music by P.I. Ciaikowsky presented during the Stagione Lirica of the Theater "A. Rendano " in Cosenza.
In 1990 it produced the ballet "Memorie Presenti, Miti e Leggende di Calabria", the first example of a ballet dedicated to the history and culture of our region, with choreography by Luciano Cannito, the music by Piero Scorpiniti, lights Patrik Latronico, directed by Italo Nunziata and texts and the historical advisory Coriolano Martirano. The ballet was first presented at the Anfiteatro of Altomonte (CS) and, subsequently, at the theater "A. Rendano".
In 1992 the Society organized the first Regional Training Course for Professional "Dancer", awarded by the Calabria Region and financed by European funds. The course is done with excellence, with the participation of professors of international renown. In subsequent years La Compagnia has organized other courses Corsi Regionali di Formazione Professionale, for “Maestro di Danza”, “Maestro Coreografo”, “Maestro di Danze Calabresi”, “Maestro di Danza-Mimo”.

In 1993, Stefano De Gaetano, good dancer of The Company, started its activity of choreographer with "Fantasie di Pinocchio", created by the choreographer who died Giancarlo Vantaggio. This ballet was led on stage in various theaters of the Province of Cosenza and in many schools.
In 1993, The Company has performed on the Teather "La Fenice" in Venice.
Two years later the Calabria Region has promulgated the Regional Law N° 38, May 3 1995, in recognition of The Company “A. Rendano” as a valid and indispensable instrument for the promotion and enhancement of the territory of the Calabria Region. This recognition, still the only one in Calabria, confirms the validity and the professionalism of the work done by The Company, which may be deemed for all purposes the Company Calabrian regional ballet.
In 1998, was realized a new production of the ballet "Lo Schiaccianoci" with the choreography and direction by Stefano De Gaetano.
Starting from 2000 the activity of The Company is identified with that of Stefano De Gaetano, that is the teacher and resident choreographer and artistic director since then.
In 2001, The Company has staged the show "Tre volte Donna", with choreography by Stefano De Gaetano.
In 2003 it was presented the show "Io, intimo sconosciuto", where choreography was edited by Guy De Bock and Stefano De Gaetano.
In 2004, The Company has staged the show "Divertissement", with choreography by Stefano De Gaetano.
In 2006 the renowned choreographer Marco Marchetti has created for The Company the choreography "Sensazione".
In 2007, The Company has performed in the theater "Apollo" in Crotone, on choreography by Stefano De Gaetano and Guy De Bock.
Stefano De Gaetano has helped with his work, to raise the level of technical and artistic preparation of dancers, renewing completely the repertoire of The Company with its original choreography and regularly inviting teachers and choreographers as guests, like Guy De Bock from 2003 to 2007 , Gaetano Posterino in 2004, Marco Marchetti in 2006, Garrison Rochelle in 2007 and 2008, the work which gave further impetus to the growth of The Company.
In recent years The Company "A. Rendano" started a collaboration with the University of Calabria, because The Company consists for the most part by dancers who are also university students, a fact unique in Italy. Under this partnership, The Company each year play the show "Univerdanza" at the Amphitheater of the University, at the same time The Company is looking for take place in the cultural programming. This initiative, one of the few of this kind in Italy, goes well with the process of cultural development that the University plays in the territory of Calabria, while at the same time shows how The Company continues to pursue the objective of dance disclosure that always characterized its work.

In 2010, the Company has successfully participated in the third edition of the Prize "Stefano Valentini," which was held at the Teatro A. Make of Cosenza on 17 and 18 December, with choreography by Stephen De Gaetano "Infinity", music by Roger Subirana and inspired by the homonymous poem by Giacomo Leopardi.
In 2011 it was brought to the stage at the Teatro A. Cosenza make the latest creation by Stefano De Gaetano, titled "Fairy Tales", with music by Bill Douglas.
Since September 2011 the Company "A. Make "boasts the collaboration of two great names of Italian and international dance, it's:
-Grace Galante, etoile International Company and star of the Ballet of the Twentieth Century, directed by the great choreographer Maurice Bejart, which was also the muse, Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres of the French Republic, maitre de ballet, choreographer.
-Fabio-Molfesi, etoile award-winning international guest star in numerous ballet companies around the world, maitre de ballet, choreographer.
