The International Center of Dance in Cosenza was born in 1975 by the will of Isabella Sisca.
After graduating in Geneva in Anatomy and Study of the Movement, Aesthetics and Cosmetology, and specializes in Sports Physiotherapy, Isabella Sisca wanted to start strongly in the city of Cosenza dance of high activity level, especially to give young people the opportunity to Cosentini studying dance teacher qualified and able to possibly find a future career.
The first seat of the Center was located in Via Don Minzoni, a street of Corso Mazzini, then as now the central area of the city. In an apartment very well adapted, Isabella Sisca manages to create a true "workshop", where girls and boys of Cosenza studying ballet and modern dance with teachers from the Royal Ballet School in London and the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma , something never before seen in the city.
Isabella Sisca to become a leading name in cultural circles of Cosenza and raise the birth of a fervent emphasis on dance.
The success of the Center attracts interest of leading figures of Italian dance, like Vittoria Ottolenghi, ballet critic of the most internationally recognized, which affects the activity of Isabella Sisca.
After just four years the seat of Via Don Minzoni is too small because of the number of students and Ms. Sisca decides to change his seat.
Is found, cleaned up and completely renovated a large room located in Via Galuppi, still a central area where the result is a structure of 1,500 square meters, with five rooms for the study of dance, one of the largest in Italy. The new office was officially opened by Carla Fracci in person, with the presence of Vittoria Ottolenghi and other personalities from the world of Italian dance and politics in Calabria, a true "event" which establishes the beginning of a happy time for the Center.
Are called to work in school artists from the Opera House in Bucharest and the Opera House in Sofia, which provide a rigorous and thorough study of classical technique. Even the modern-jazz dance began to be applied and practiced more and more, thanks to the arrival of teachers from Britain and the United States. The success of the school has no equal in the whole country as "Siska" becomes synonymous with a quality service.
With the passage of time begin to form dancers of talent and, in 1981, Ms. Sisco, with the aim of providing a professional outlet for these young dancers, he founded a company which is named after the famous composer Alfonso Cosenza Rendano .
In subsequent years the most important figures of the dance in Italy, as Renato Greek to Vittorio Biagi, visit the school to take classes and stages of completion.
In 1987 Ms. Sisca inaugurates the first edition of "Dance Festival" held in the picturesque setting of the amphitheater Altomonte, a town in the province of Cosenza, which will become, thanks to the happy idea of Isabella Sisca, the center of the dance in the South for eight years, in fact, participate in the festival schools from all regions of Southern Italy, in a joyful and constructive confrontation.
In 1990, the already known choreographer Luciano Cannito realizes for the Company "A. Make "a ballet about the history and culture of Calabria, entitled" Present Memories: Myths and Legends of Calabria "an absolutely new theme until then. The Company is demonstrating its high level and success beyond expectations, so that the video of the ballet is required by the State Archive in Rome.
In 1994, the first teachers trained in ballet school, Antonella Monaco and Stefano De Gaetano, won the choreography prize European Scarpetta d'Oro "It also speaks to how good and inspired choreographers.
At the same time the headquarters of the Center of Cosenza saw held the first regional course of vocational training, with profiles of dance, in which they are invited to teach instructors from around the world. Courses continue with regularity almost yearly until 2000, many young qualified professionals.
In 2001, another turning point: the premises of Via Galuppi has become unmanageable because of the traffic congesting the city and Isabella Sisca, always courageous and enterprising, immediately find another place next to the regional headquarters of RAI, also in Cosenza.
Having said that, in the summer of 2001 he started work to establish what will be the new home of the International Center of Dance Ltd, still a structure of 1,500 square meters, where space is exploited in an exemplary manner, with another five study rooms dance, all at the large car park next door, where it dominates the total luminosity and a healthy environment, away from the pollution of city streets, where everything is under law. The new year of study commencing in September 2001 while still not being completed all the rooms, but people who get their courage was surprised once again by Isabella Sisca and his associates.
Since then the story becomes latest and most recent is the change of name which has been implemented: a very important change and not merely formal, with whom he wants to reaffirm the continued commitment to provide a service more professional and tending to continuous improvement .
After 10 years in Viale G. Marconi, once again we see the need to transfer the headquarters of the School. Identifies the local branch of the old High School "Zest", now abandoned, in the course sites Fera Louis, Ugo Traversa Cavalcanti, a very central point of the city. During the summer of 2011 the premises were completely refurbished and modernized, to get to the end, the new home of Planet Dance Ltd, which all are invited to visit.
